The Asset Management Division was established to provide investment services in a number of ways both tailored to the needs of our clients and through funds that are able to pool the assets of different investors.

Asset management is at the very heart of FNB Capital's (previously MECG) service and know-how.     The National Fixed Income Fund is a conventional open-ended investment fund that aims to provide high current income by investing primarily in LBP Lebanese fixed income securities. As a secondary investment objective, the Fund seeks capital appreciation, but only when consistent with its principal investment objective.

    The Fund should be viewed as a low risk product investing in appropriate fixed income instruments to meet its return objectives.

    • Currency: Lebanese Pounds (LBP)
    • Expected Yearly Return: In the range of 8% (the capital is not guaranteed)
    • Dividend Payment: Semi-annual
    • Structure: Open-ended Fund
    • Subscription Redemption: Weekly subscription / redemption at prevailing Net Asset Value (NAV)
    • NAV Frequency: Weekly
    • Minimum Subscription: LBP 15,000,000 (In multiples of LBP 1,000,000 thereafter)
    • Eligibility: Open to all resident investors (except US investors)
    • Subscription Fees: 0.50%
    • Advisory Fees: 1.20%
    • Administrator and Custodian: Midclear s.a.l.
    • Auditor: Deloitte & Touche
    • No exit fees (Minimum holding period of 6 months, from the date of original subscription, during which shares may be redeemed but such redemptions are subject to a redemption fee of 1% retained by the portfolio)
    Investment strategy

    The Portfolio shall invest in LBP pounds denominated fixed income securities (including bonds, treasury bills, certificate of deposits, and other similar instruments) issued by the Lebanese Government, the central bank of Lebanon, and the top 12 Lebanese banks which have a maturity up to 20 years.

    The First National Dollar Fund is a conventional open-ended investment fund that aims to provide high current income by investing primarily in USD Lebanese fixed income securities. As a secondary investment objective, the Fund seeks capital appreciation, but only when consistent with its principal investment objective.

    The Fund should be viewed as a low risk product investing in appropriate fixed income instruments to meet its return objectives.

    Investment strategy

    The Portfolio shall invest in US$ denominated fixed income financial instruments, securities and preferred shares (including but not limited to, bonds, treasury bills, certificate of deposits, preferred shares and other similar instruments) issued by the Lebanese government, the Central Bank of Lebanon, and the Alpha Group Lebanese banks (including First National Bank SAL) which have a maturity up to 20 years.

    In addition, the Portfolio may also be subject to the conditions set out in the investment restrictions, invest in First National Bank SAL common shares.
